RE:Wading Jacket
Thank you - (Joe and Anglinarcher) As of right now, I am leaning toward Cablela's - Guidewear Wading Jacket, Gortex. I dress well and am usually well prepred for any type of weather. So to be more specific; a shell, water proof, storm flap. This model has nine pockets. I was just interested in comme...

Reading the magazines, online testimonials and descriptions of the jackets are great. But first hand knoweledge from fellow flyfisherman, whom have used the product would be very ...
RE:UW
I live on the east side and follow UW football. I know the program is having troubles, however 4 years is not alot of time to turn around a mess inherited from AD Hedges, and Neuhausial (sp). Besides how is the university going to afford, buying out Ty, along with the current amounts they are paying...

RE:Yellowstone
Thanks to all - great info and all of you have helped in reasearching the trip. There is a nominal fee, very reasonable, my son also has to apply for a permit to fish, no fee as long as I am with him. Time will be a major factor as we are not sure of what or how much we can see in a day.We have divi...

Yellowstone
I am heading to the Yellowstone with my wife and son of 13, I have not been there since I was probably his age. Thought it might be fun to do some fly fishing while I was there. Does anyone have any suggestions to which streams to visit? Anything would help in starting my research. We will be there ...

RE:Fly Fishing Lake Roosevelt ?????
From Orient down 6-8 miles to large beach ( the locals call Intercourse Beach) , you will see this area as you are driving to Orient. Scouted this stretch last summer, allowed my son to float the stretch with his two older relatives. Talked to a couple of gentlemen, turned out they where flyfisherma...

RE:The Man That Changed My Life Forever
Well gentleman - I would not end Marc's story with Clarence. As much as Clarence means to Marc, Marc means to me. In 1993, Marc was practicing his casting, I am someone who cannot sit still and love the challenge in anything I attempt. I walked across the street with curiosity. Of course one thing l...

Chironomid guy - last summer (2007), my son along with his two cousins, floated the Kettle from Orient to what is known locally as Intercourse Beach. I spent my time waiting for them scouting the river for good pockets. Also talked to a flyfishermen taking in a leisurely float. He confirmed as I sus...

The Ice is off of Medical, I fished 4/2 and 4/3 (hospital end) for about 2 1/2 to 3hrs each, 2 to three fish each day. 18-20" very healthy and released all. Went back out 4/12 (park end) for about 5 hrs, released 6, 18-20, and one real nice 25" rainbow, old fish, scar on tail, miised many. The first...

RE:Open Water on Medical
Marc- the picture you posted from Medical Lake - real coool! The pontoon boat looks familar, however the angler is new - Mike Carey , I presume. Glad the two of you enjoyed the few hours spent. The gentlemen you gave advice to as you left the water also enjoyed the day, maybe more than you two.

RE:New Tiger Musky Pattern
A few of us gathered at Silver Bow to discuss Muskie flies and ideas. While we were there i came up with a perch pattern, then got home and looked at picture of a perch and tweaked this idea a bit more. I showed it to Marc, he likes it but suggested that the dumbbell eyes be tied on the bottom, so t...

RE:WL- Offical Wet Xmas Swap
Glad to hear the fly swap is going well, anxious to see various patterns. with everyone talking about barbless, and Rocky Ford, has anyone been down there recently? I have some time off for x-mas break, and am just wondering. This would be the first time in 25 years that I have had some time off, to...

RE:WL- Offical Wet Xmas Swap
I am David Hall, Marc Martyn got me hooked in for the fly tie event. I will tie a "lightning bug", very effective in
(Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Western Montana) lakes and streams. But I am sure this fly will be effective almost anywhere. Looking forward to seeing other favorites.
