Re: trolling for bass with a fly
Coincidentally, we accidentally caught an 8" small mouth on Wildcat Lake (Kitsap County) on Saturday trolling an orange Mack's Smiley Blade fly (basically a wooly bugger).

Re: where are you going for opening weekend?
More than likely sleeping in and then sitting at the bar watching NASCAR. I've only been fishing for two years and I made it out for opening day last year. Now that I've done it once,,,,, I don't really care if I ever hit it again, there is plenty of time throughout the rest of the season. Good luck...

Re: dock fishing etiquette question
I've run into that once (related anyway) at Island Lake in Kitsap County. Island Lake is on the outskirts of Silverdale and has a large migrant population with the Navy base. The dock is on the small side and one couple had 30% of it covered with chairs, coolers and other "stuff". I was able to fish...

Re: MA 9&10 quotas
I just heard the same thing,,,,,, as a new Fly guy I wanted to try a few of these around Manette but heard they weren't around yet. None of the reports on this site showed otherwise so I was waiting. Now it seems I've waited too long. I'd go out tonight, but one too many adult beverages to walk in t...

Re: powerbait vs. lures or flies
I've only been fishing for about a year now. I have tried several different tactics in my short time on/at the lakes. My two favorites thus far are trolling and fly fishing. Trolling: There is such a variety of ways to hunt them buggers down that make it a challenge. Just because tactic X worked yes...

Kitsap County has the Kitsap Pogy Club. I am a very new member, but they seem to be a well versed group of folks.

I'm hitting my "secret" secluded lake on Saturday. There is NO WAY I would hit any of the "popular" lakes this weekend at all.

Lowland Lakes Opener
As a new angler (started fishing last June) I am anxiously awaiting Saturday! I can't wait to start exploring the lakes in my tri-county area (Kitsap, Jefferson & Mason) and maybe a few Pierce & Thurston lakes. I also am looking forward to learning more and refining my trolling abilities. I have a s...

Try USIA waders. They are out of Oregon and make standard & custom waders. http://usia.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Make sure that you check the regs for any lake (any body of water for that matter) BEFORE you go out. There are several lakes that do not allow the use of two poles.

Re: Gearing up for this season!
I've been using Mack's Smiley Blade Flys (wooley bugger) for the last month and been slaying them. The other options listed above are all good too. I've also been adding a little Pro-Cure shrimp gel to get their attention.

Re: Regulations Question
For those of us that are trolling, if we tip with corn, maggots or worms are we using Hardware or Bait?? AS we all understand the difference, with the hook being swallowed half way to the guts but I have never seen the Regs stateing it in those words. You are actually doing both. Bait as defined by...
