Great early season catch!

I appreciate it everyone!! [thumbsup] I have mixed emotions closing it out...I'm happy and a little bummed. It's been a heckuva chase and something I looked forward to doing for so long that I can't believe it went by so fast...of course part of that was the plan [biggrin] I'm working on encapsulat...

King County and others are places I fished in previous years. I fished Beaver, Angle, Meridian, Sammamish and others years ago, they count lol. My struggles are mostly mental. Sure weather, conditions and unfamiliar waters play their parts but I am fishing to quickly, trying to bang em out instead ...

8theB8 , this sounds like an awesome quest and is right in line with why I started the web site so many years ago! I hope Bob sees this post. He would be touched and honored I'm sure. Could you send me a PM? I have a question.... I have been checking the latest reports but haven't been checking in ...

In the beginning, when this site was started, it seemed like a great idea for all anglers posting reports have some secret name. I was "Bass Tracker." I am thinking now that it would be a good idea to encourage members, (but not require) to use their real names.

The book was a fun project. Thanks for the comments! Dave Shorett added a lot with his fly fishing experience. I thought his intro article was pretty good. It kinda shows how an angler can get hooked on bass fishing.

Yes, That fish was probably quite old. I once had a big bass die on me. I was bank fishing with a black spinnerbait and caught an 8-4. I admit I did take time for a photo but got her back in the water as soon as possible. I held her upright - moved her back and forth but she just wouldn't come back ...

I know a guy (no mention of a name) that has transported 2 or 3 live bass to a grocery store and had them weighted on a certified scale and returned them to the lake. He would go inside the store and tell the clerk he had a live fish he wanted to weigh - explain it had to be done quickly - the clerk...

It's dead by now. Darn! [crying] I know, Ate The Bait, it is sad to see a big beauty like that killed. However, I bet Bill Evens has released hundreds of big bass in his lifetime -- And, that big bass was probably near the end of her life span -- And, I also bet that many of us bass releasers would...

It just proves that probably many of the small lakes can host very large bass. Bill just caught the one I was looking for for about 40 years. My congrats to Bill!

Nice fish AJD! My bass fishing days are about over but I have lots of good memories. My personal best was an 8-4 caught from a lake down along the Columbia River.

What were you doing 35 years ago - May 18, 1980 when the Mountain blew its top? My wife and I were fishing at King County's Bass Lake.
