Re: Spot Shrimp Newbie
I realize this is an old thread but am wondering which pots you favor and have you done any shrimping since? Are then any good areas in north MA 8-2? Thank you and shrimp on!

Re: the fresh-water lobsterette - crawfish lakes *UPDATE*
Right on racfish. I use half of the pouch so it's not so strong. Zatarain's or McCormick's. Both have cayenne and a bunch of other goodies in them. Anyone here ever fished Louisiana waterways? That's where a life-long love for fishing comes from.

Re: the fresh-water lobsterette - crawfish lakes *UPDATE*
I grew up in a recreational boating family in Louisiana. We used to throw a pouch of Louisiana crab boil into the boiling water (I pour in a half a pouch). Seasons mud bugs up nicely but not too strong. I do the same when boiling dungeness. Zatarain's or McCormick's crab boil can be found in most st...

Re: Looking to get started in Lingcod Bottom Fishing in the Puget Sound: What Fishing Line/Sinkers should I buy?
Would love to go linging in MA 8-2 but do not have a boat beyond a small heavy duty raft. I just posted the following in the Fishing Buddy section: ---------------------------------------------------------- I live in North Snoco and am looking for a responsible person with a boat to fish and crab th...

Someone needs to open a bait shop called Squid Pro Quo. *lol*

Seeking Responsible Person w/Boat to Crab & Fish MA 8-2
I live in North Snoco and am looking for a responsible person with a boat to fish and crab the MA 8-2 region. Have my own crabbing and fishing gear, bait, licenses and clean background (you too). Not into drugs, drama or drinking, generally low key and a life-long love for fishing and crabbing. Earl...

Re: Remote camp site advice needed!
What area are you coming up from? I would suggest Baker lake. Spectacular scenery and nearby roads to remote areas. I've been thinking of going up when the weather is a bit more moderate.

Re: Friends to fish with
I live near the Stilly and posted a couple times looking for people to fish area lakes or MA 8-2. I am limited to a small boat that is currently out of commission. I don't mind shore fishing but would gladly chip in reasonably for boat fishing. I do smoke cigs if that's okay. Can meet at launch. [co...

Avon's Skin So Soft (SSS) often works better than other products. I also keep some Deep Woods Off in my tackle box.

Re: Preferred Family Tent???
While I am as open minded about what qualifies as camping as anyone, I will have to draw the line at air conditioners for your tent. Just stay at home or a hotel if that's your speed. I agree with you. The AC flap is overkill unless there's some kind of extreme heat wave or if someone is living in ...

Re: I'm feeling crabby....
Thanks Larry for the input. Harvest reports do seem few and far between. I hope the state didn't hype an anticipated harvest to boost license and permit sales. The collective costs of an outing is increasingly excessive. Even a trip to the pier means an additional day use fee. The day amounted to a ...

They said numbers should be up again for 2017 but so far, it's been pretty slow. Anyone here crab the north MA 8-2 area? Any updates would be appreciated. Thank you. ![Cool [cool]](./images/smilies/msp_cool.gif)

Re: Best Crab Pots
I'm a total fan of Protoco Slip Ring crab traps. When the pot's soaking, the side mesh rings collapse flat allowing the crabs to enter from the side meaning when you go to pull up the pot, the sides raise up closed, making it impossible for the crabs to escape. You can find Protoco Slip Ring pots by...
