Re: Commencement Bay shore fishing? Dash Point pier?
You'll need a catch card for salmon or crab, it's a free add-on with your saltwater license. if you're targeting anything else you don't need the catch card. Good call on the pier being packed, should have no issue getting sand dabs in pretty much any depth so fishing from the shore sounds like a go...

Re: Where are the Ocean run Coho?
Bringing this thread back from the dead, I've only picked up resident coho so far this year but have heard that there are some 8 and 9lb fish starting to show up in area 10. Gonna try to find one for myself this coming weekend. Tight lines all!

Re: Camano Island surf fishing
If primary goal is to catching something and have fun, I would target bottom fish from the beach... you should be able to pull in some sand dabs without much trouble. Assuming you have rods/poles and are able to cast with them you will need: -some hi/low rigs. Buy several, when bottom fishing it is ...

Re: Commencement Bay shore fishing? Dash Point pier?
PS: another fun thing to do from the pier is crabbing, down in tacoma it is open Sunday and Monday only. You get yourself either a castable trap (like https://www.amazon.com/Danielson-Crab-Trap-Jaw/dp/B003OB7IX4 or https://www.amazon.com/Promar-AC-333W-Loop-Weighted-Snare/dp/B078J5PJNW) or a crab ri...

Re: Commencement Bay shore fishing? Dash Point pier?
If you're fishing from the pier or from the beach and looking for anything that bites, I would recommend a "hi low" rig (can buy these or tie your own) and an ounce or two of lead on it and for the bait use "Gulp" artificial sand worms, raw shrimp, little bit of octopus, something like that. You wil...

Re: North Sound Beach Fishing
If you are targeting Salmon from the beach and live on the east side of the Sound I would recommend Golden Gardens, Carkeek, Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, Kayu Kayu Ac Park and Picnic Point as potential spots... I say this not based on my extensive shore fishing experience from any of these spots b...

Re: Where are the Ocean run Coho?
coho2.jpg I just added a fishing report for area 10, not published yet though. I picked some up on Saturday, good eating but not monsters... 4.5 and 5.5lbs. I was fishing the Edmonds//oil docks/Richmond Beach/Boeing Creek stretch of area 10. First one (the smaller one) in around 100 FOW with 80 on ...
