Clear Lake With Matt Allen & Josh Saint John

I just wanted to share a bit with you guys about the most amazing experience I've had in all of the time that I have been bass fishing!

I drove down to San Francisco on 3/14 to be there when my friend proposed to his gf (now fiance) on the 15th. I also forked out a ridiculous amount of money to book a guided bass fishing trip on clear lake with Matt Allen! I booked the trophy package.

So by a twist of fate, luck, destiny, or whatever you want to call it, I got to fish along side with Josh Saint John who is the owner of JSJ Bait Co!

I got to learn SO MUCH just by watching these two fish and talking with them. It felt so surreal being able to be on the same boat with two guys who are known as heavyweights in the bass fishing world, living legends, kings of big baits, and the whole 9 yards. It was an incredible experience that gave me confidence in throwing big baits as well as completely change my mentality on bass fishing. I am hoping to apply what I learned this year to Washington and hope that it pays off!

I didn't catch an absolute giant or break my personal best but that's perfectly fine with me. I caught a lot of bass with the smallest being about 2 lbs. I caught several that were 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 & 4.5. My two biggest went 5.35 and 6.40. Matt and JSJ both caught Bass upwards of 7 lbs and were totally showing me how it's done and taking me to school. I loved every moment of it.
