Increased bag limits on some of the local S rivers!

Post by Matt » Fri Apr 22, 2011 2:11 am

Looked at the new regs for the first time tonight. Skagit, Snoho, and Sky are all getting 3 fish limits with 1 additional pink making for a total of 4 fish, 3 of which can be silvers. Pretty excited for the extra fish on the Snoho and Sky this year. Also looks like the sky WILL be getting a selective king fishery from June 1st - July 31st.

For those that fish the Mud Pit (Samish) an interesting few more new rules to make an already confusing fishery worse; fish MUST BE HOOKED INSIDE OF THE MOUTH as opposed to the gillplate forward. Also, first 2 legally hooked salmon MUST BE RETAINED and the fisherman MUST STOP FISHING after the first 2 legally hooked fish have been retained.

Dammmn WTF i aint trying to keep a moldy ass king i hook on accident in the samish just cause it bites first. thats a ridiculous rule unless its like for trout with bait, where it kills em. wonder what the reason is... and yea i said bites, i use eggs on private property where nobody gets to come and snag the BALLZ out of them with those stupid ass jigs. people tell me they bite those off the bottom in the mud. haha some people

Wow, They're really going after the snaggers. Well, with everyone retaining all the moldy ones it might keep the river clear of 'em, I guess, but wait, they're not gonna hook like thirty fish getting to the chromers. Wow, enforcement is going to have a hay day with this one.

Stoked about the limit increase though!

The rule for the samish is designed to limit the crowding on the river. My guess is it will have little to no effect....

Super stoked for 3 coho on the skag sno and sky though! 3 guys to a boat with 9 silvers, and 3 bonus pinks... that sounds like a fishfest for sure!

My wife is gonna have a fit when I fill the freezer up. I'm going to have to get a smoker this year for sure.

Three Silvers is Awesome...You will have to sift through 30 pinks to find ONE Though...glad we are getting the 4 pink allowance this year.
