New reel

Post by DannyL » Thu Dec 27, 2012 2:08 pm

Second time with a baitcaster, I got the Abu Garcia black Max 2. I've been practicing my casting and think I have it down this time. Very happy with the purchase. Can't wait to use it on yhe steelies.

Keep at it you will love it after you get used to it. not the best on Creeks that is for sure. I have a black max I use for my trout rod. good little reels for the money Some thing I wish someone would of told me is use cheap fishing line to get use to the reel at first you may go through a lot of line (birds nest).

love my black max for silvers on my local small rivers but yet to hook a steelhead on it though, mainly use it for drift fishing.

I love mine already and have not even gotten a chance to break er in yet. Paired it with an 8'6 medium heavy ugly stick. Just love the ugly sticks compared to anything else I've used.

Ummm...maybe 'cause you have it as your "signature" after your posts, "2012 Season Stats" and it is a very impressive number!

I put my stats up every year since I've been really into fishing. My goal was 200 kings but I fell short this season
