Re: 2012 Favorites/Memories
I don't have the pics off of the camera but over spring break fishing with Rich Underwood and my dad on the Quinault was awesome, especially with my first spoon caught Steelhead! The following day FF and I slayed on the Nooch. Never forget that weekend. The next one is my roommate Evan with the biggest brown of the season. A 24.25 inch BRUTE he hit on the East Gallatin.

Besides the picture Danny posted of me on the Skagit....I had great memories of this spot 12 minutes from my house this past summer/fall.

By and large a great place to fish. Easy access, logs to sit on, great scenery. I was there pretty much every day for a month and a half. Became one of the 'locals' and met some nice folks. Only got crazy on a couple of weekends. Watching 30-40 boats doing the buttholes and elbows dance is worth the trip by itself. LOL
I only caught the tail end of the pink run in 2011, but I've heard stories!!! Could be blast and I need to get a smoker.

Re: 2012 Favorites/Memories
its a hatchery hole, if theres fish to be had.......well, i backup.....i better not sound like a douche. yes, this past summer and fall on certain days there were alot of hookups and limits. and i have had days there where i cant even get a sniff and they guy next to me floatin or throwin exactly the same does well.....you know what i mean. but , i have spent many days when the flows were at thier lowest, just wading around marking depressions and boulders for when the flows were right. that helps. but yes. i put 20 on the card from there, and feel fortunate because all too many dont get any. This past summer I got back into it again after some time away from fishing and i think i didnt do too bad for shakin the rust off.
hit it or quit it.

Re: 2012 Favorites/Memories

Re: 2012 Favorites/Memories
If your able to mark 20 on your card at reiter then you're doing something right. If you really want to break 15lbs the best way is to target rivers that have bigger fish. Reiter, Cascade, and other hatchery rivers are good places to catch fish, but don't produce that many 15+ fish. I've caught about 5 fish from the 14-17lb range. All of them are either from the peninsula or the Vedder, and ALL of them were native. I would suggest not necessarily trying to refine your skills, but target rivers that hold bigger fish, and especially target rivers where wild fish are present. If you caught 20 fish on a river with said bigger fish, then most definitely there would be some pigs in there.
