Sturgeon 2015
I have been hitting one of my favorite river systems for about two weeks now and it has been nothing short of insane! Multiple hook ups per day with some fish well into oversized territory. One nice thing the warm water does is make these fish extremely willing to bite and they are not sluggish when that line comes tight! Last week I boated 9 fish in three trips, a few keeper sized, a couple 5-6 foot, and one that was over 9 feet! Saturday we boated 4 fish and had 8 hook ups and I dont know how many bites i missed. Way to much fun out there this year already, and its only gonna get better!

Just don't ask him where. he is very tight lipped bout it LOL. You know I'm just Jealous . Those fish are such on my bucket list. I cant wait for your write up Bud.

Ill tell you everywhere I catch fish, except for Sturgeon lol

Looks like the sloughs on the lower Snohomish.

I know where... The saltwater launch options suck and you need a pump for fresh water access. With the matrix of sloughs in the area you have to be in the right place and fishing the out going tide but when the stars align it's a hog-fest. Now if we could just convince WDFW that these are not Columbia River fish...

There is so many HUGE oversize females in there right now. I wish we had a better tagging system so we could see if these are indeed fraiser fish.

They will sometimes open a season in the upper Columbia River (Hood River area) in the winter and summer. Pretty limited season obviously. The winter one is a little dicey and not for the faint of heart. It gets a little chilly in the Gorge during that winter season. Ice on the launch ramp is not fun in my opinion!
