Can you fish other fish in closed rivers ?

Not if the river is closed, many rivers have restrictions on Salmon fishing right now but most of these are still open for fishing. You would want to read the emergency rule change for the river you want to fish.

Check the emergency rules because all the rivers differ. Most are closed to Salmon but is still open for Steelhead.

Thanks for the info.I was just curious, and a little frustrated after getting all gear for Salmon river fishing! Then they close the rivers! ](*,) So going to concentrate on trout fishing or other pan fish. Steelhead hmmm I will check that out. I'm new at steelhead fishing so I will see...
