I was guessing from that era, Aldous Huxley came to mind but I knew it wasn't his voice. Have you ever by chance read Alan Watts book titled "The Book"? If you like what he had to say in this narration you may find that book to be pretty amazing also.

The full title is "The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are" by Alan Watts. Easy read, but very life changing.
