Fishing Dreams/Goals!

Post by Fish_Bait111397 » Wed Mar 16, 2011 10:50 am

Thought this would be a sorta fun thread.
Share your fishing dreams or goals that you wanna accomplish
throughout your life !
I'll start, I have always been taught to dream big...
1.Catch a salmon (king) of atleast 50 pounds.
2. Catch a steely of atleast 17 pounds.
3. Catch a 8+ foot sturgeon.
4.Catch a double digit LMB
5. I wanna go to Florida and catch Tarpon
6. Become really good at Fly Fishing.
7. Go to San Diego on a charter and catch Mako Sharks. My uncle did it before, and caught a 6 foot mako.
8. Catch barracuda.
9. Catch a trophy pink salmon !
10. This is by far my biggest dream, to catch a world record fish !
I know I know, I dream big.
What do you guy got!?!?!?!?!:nemo:
~Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

~My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Keep living for another 10 years so I can;

Catch a state record bass, big or little bass. There IS a world record Smallie in this state.

Fish in tournies again.

Go to Texas, Calif., or Fl. and catch a 20 lb Largie.

Go to Calif. and play with the cars again at the road courses.

Win another 'Best in Show' with the dog I have now.

Retire to Mexico, buy a little beachside casita and a panga and see what happens next.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

i've gotta say my top goal is to put 60+lb king in the net.
catch a sockeye, bull trout & dolly to finish off the river slam.
get a triple digit hali
just hook into a 12 foot dino (i wanna see how bad a fish that size really is!)
and last get a 10+lb rainbow out of american or mineral lake (not a triploid!) to mount and put on the wall.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

I would only call this a goal, and obviously not a dream. I would like to move away from my "Confidence baits" with bass, and learn to successfuly fish a broader range of bass baits. I am kind of stuck on large Senkos. I want to hit my two local urban lakes HAAARRRRRDDDDD! this year, and although I think I know those lakes well. I would like to recognize this fish I'm catching.... from catching them so often. (the larger ones I'm talking about):bball:

I have a few...

Catch some of the fish I haven't yet caught... brown trout, walleye, marlin, mahi mahi

Then bump my PR's for chinook over 40 (from 34) and halibut over 100 (from 92)

Last would be to have all three of my kids LOVE fishing...

I'd like to fly fish Alaska for those giant Rainbows and beautiful Arctic Grayling. Then head south to Hebgen Lake. I haven't fished that lake since before the earthquake changed it's shape. My Dad and my Uncle Don were the first to fish that lake with leaded line and flatfish. That was in the '40s, just after WWII.
Where you go is less important than how you get there.
