2 pole endorsement

so after i bought my license the other day including the 2 pole endorsement, the worker at sportco added that she thinks this years 2 pole endorsement is only applicable to fishing on a boat, and not on docks, pier or shores, i sure hope she was mistaken because then there is almost no reason for me to have bought it... any imput on this guys?

I haven't read of any such designation. But the new regs won't be out until May, or so.

The 2 pole endorsement is for a body of water!! It's not to reward you for owning a boat!! There are times I beach fish and I throw 2 rods, 1 on the bottom and the other is a slip float. It sounds like you are a victim of Do-gooders looking out for your best interest's.

Last I read, it's mostly lakes where that two pole endorsement is allowed when specified.... not many rivers except above Grand Coulee in Lake Roosevelt, only salt I recall is the Tulalip bubble joke of a fishery. It's not allowed in a lot of lakes... careful reading the regs.. their trend had been to increase two pole opportunity to gather the extra fee... I'd be surprised if they pulled a 180 on that so quickly. Lakes! and check regs because not all lakes. No salmon except a couple exceptions.

That's funny! Last time I saw someone fishing from a horse, I was backpacking in the Bob Marshall in MT 35ish years ago!

Since he was fishing a river, he only had one pole. LMAO

Make sure that you check the regs for any lake (any body of water for that matter) BEFORE you go out. There are several lakes that do not allow the use of two poles.

I know WDFW was looking to expand it at that time to collect additional fees, I quit buying the endorsement so haven't kept up to date looking at the two pole reg.

If they opened it up to the coast, I'd be all over that!

From a quick peruse of last years regs, 2 pole is a go on most lakes that don't have any sort of migratory fish, AKA Salmon, Steelheads....... I find it a waste of time for most of my pursuits. I'd look pretty funny trying to swing 2 fly rods, ok I look pretty funny anyways.

Some salt areas have the two pole as well. The Tulalip bubble comes to mind. Two pole is great when trolling for kokes, plunking powerbait and casting for bass on lakes or carping. I always get it, if only for baker.

Wow! That's a switch aroo! I recall Lake WA wasn't on the list just a couple or few years ago, specifically because of the migratory fish. I still have to buy this year's lic, I'll look into it first. The bubble, I knew about... I used to get the two pole just for trout and perch... kept things moving when the bite was slow.

That's what I remember..and no on most rivers.... so no on the CR and the river's lakes below Grand Coulee... impoundments like Roland Lake should be 2 pole authorized unless the regs state otherwise. It's unlikely I'll pick up the 2 pole endorsement, picking up the CR though.
