Piece of World Trade Center

Post by R0cky23 » Mon Aug 15, 2011 4:36 am

So today I was going through Morton and we stopped for a rest break. We soon noticed that there was a big truck with a piece of the world trade center on the back. We walked over and learned more. Apparently Kitsap Country Fire Department was granted a beam from the world trade center. It was truly amazing to see, got some chills as I thought about it. 2,753 victims, including 343 firefighters and 60 police officers and port authority and 8 private EMTs crazy stuff! My thoughts are always with the family's of the victims. I will never forget that fateful day.

Ya I have been pretty busy with school and the firefighting training program, I am still a South Pierce Fire Cadet, I am one of the 3 Cadet lieutenants in the program. Our Cadet Chief will be leaving the program to be a Volunteer for the Department, So I am really considering applying for the Cadet Chief position when he leaves. I am a Senior in high school this year and am taking a firefighting course which is half the school day and I will get more training on the fire service and get school credit. Then I am going to go to college, want to get a degree in fire science. So thinking University of Alaska Fairbanks and get on the university fire dept. or go to South Puget Sound Community College and do a lateral transfer from the cadet program i am in to be a volunteer firefighter for South Pierce

Sounds like you are a hard worker and set your goals to something you will get there. Wish I could say that for the rest of your generation. No one wants to put the effort into it anymore and exspects everything for free. I`m done rambling congrats.

Thank you rjn Cajun, I appreciate it :). I agree on my generation not putting in effort and expecting things for free. I see it every day at school and it annoys me so much! lol
