When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

So, are you planning to smoke a ton of fish and game this winter with all the apple and alder?

No apple but I spent 10 hours on Saturday splitting and stacking 10 cords of fir
Im sore in places I didn't know could be sore and I passed on fishing sunday evening just to sit in the recliner
I cant believe summer just didn't happen this year

Edge, before you give up on Summer, remember the weather doesn't really go south until the second week in October. All the early season hunters can attest to this. Dragging a deer back to camp or humping the hills after chukar in 80+ degree weather is the norm in this part of the country.

You are spot on G. Every year during deer season after the morning hunt we sit around camp with shirts off cuz it`s still 80 in the mountains on the east side. But to agree with Edge also I bet my wife at the beginning of summer it wouldn`t hit 90. Very unhappy to say I`m winning. Watched the news yesterday and the lady said it was nice standing on the weather deck with a sweater on. I almost went through the TV!!!! She also said that statisicly July is the hottest month we have. If that`s true you know what that means. You can also feel the change coming in the air early in the morning. I don`t need to say anything ya`ll know how I feel about it.G-Man wrote:Edge, before you give up on Summer, remember the weather doesn't really go south until the second week in October. Bring on fall! Nothing beats fishing for silvers on a september morning before settling in to watch college football all day....

I was fishing the Sound this weekend a wearing a jacket well into the late morning hours. I'll take that over putting up the top on the boat just to get out of the sun any day! It is like we've been in a perpetual state of Autum, we haven't even broken out the fans for the house yet. Unfortunately, if it stays like this through October, me may see the entire east coast move here to get out of the heat.

HOLY YOUNG ENERGY GUNS! I'm worn out just looking at that stack#-o .
My stack of alder fills up most of a cardboard apple box from the store LOL.
