Want To See How Fast You Are On The Keyboard?

I was looking for the internet speed test and ran across this site that is kind of fun.

http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/

I've often wondered how fast my typing is, since the last typing test that I took was in 1969. At that time, on the old mechanical 70 lb. Smith-Corona machines where the keys traveled down 1" when struck, I typed at about 50-60 wpm. I just took it and casually typing I did 37 wpm.
While living in San Francisco in 1964, I took my first typing class in 8th grade. I sure took a lot of flack from the guys in the school. "Hey Marc, going to your typing class?" "Are you going to be someones secretary when you grow up"? That has proved to be the most valuable classes that I have ever taken in school. Who would have thought that the personal computer would be invented and that you could own one. Beside, the typing class was filled with girls![love]

I did 44 WPM. I never took a typing class - all learned OTJ. I do a lot of commands and short strings for work, not a lot of all out typing, not sure if that makes a difference or not. I DO know however, that if I have what I want to type in my head, and look at the keyboard I can type much faster than if I am reading something from a page (or the screen) and typing it. It is really just a mental thing at this point, I know without looking where the keys are, and when I am looking at the keyboard I am not even really focusing on anything, just eyes down and my fingers just fly, but eyes up and I slow way down.

Got 87 wpm, flawed typing test though since it's just words, not actually in a sentence form. Took one of those that does it in sentence form to put wpm down on applications for jobs and had gotten around 65 for that.
