Aha! Yep that's the elusive creature. Guess it'd have to get far enough upriver to be a freshwater catch.
Where's spokey been lately I wonder (posting anyway)? Figure he's gotta be doing some catching with his skill set.

Trust me, rock bass are nothing special. There are millions of them all over American lake. While fishing for perch today, I probably caught two dozen of them in 20 minutes. They are little thievs too. I blew through a can of worms in like 30 minutes because of them.

That's a good one. I've heard they're not any harder to catch than trout, but they sure are pretty.

Trust me, rock bass are nothing special. There are millions of them all over American lake. While fishing for perch today, I probably caught two dozen of them in 20 minutes. They are little thievs too. I blew through a can of worms in like 30 minutes because of them.

So I've heard, it still would be something to add to the list. The only panfish I've ever caught are Pumpkinseed (and perch if you count them as panfish). Unless you are fishing in a catch and release area, you should only need enough worms to catch one rock bass. Kill one, cut it into small pieces and use it for bait, perch like it better and it stays on the hook better as well.

I hate the dough baits too, thats why I use power eggs. Same scent but in a tougher soft plastic egg shape. I have caught a limit before using the same pair of eggs.

I hope you have meat stick and some Power pro for that lock ness hahaha

Yeah, you're right about the bait. I guess rock bass are cool if you don't really care what you're fishing for, since they bite so instantaneously. If you don't get a bite within 15-20 seconds, they're not there.

I was going to poke fun at you for somehow not catching any trout in Washington when our state pretty much stocks every lake with them, but then I thought about it and realized I could only remember catching one of them inside washington in my life before this year. I hate powerbait as well and it carries a stigma to me of fisherman that only go out to stocked lakes for a couple days in the spring. I own some for my wife since she won't touch worms. I don't tell her about the stigma I have... :bom:

Good to know. Sounds like the pumpkinseed and yellow perch in the pond my in my parents neighborhood. Pretty tiny things, but you get to the point where if you don't see/feel a bite in 5 seconds you're bored and worried you're doing something wrong. The hardest part is getting the #12 hook in their mouth and hooking them.

lol I went to Beaver lake last year 2 days after the Drop of a few thousand fish and not even a Nibble from a trout caught a few Perch I believe.. I fished all day one day with my son to watch a Eagle land a nice 3-4lb trout out of Beaver lake. after that i gave up fished on my lakes down south more. in vegas a nice shiny hook is all you needed. in the lake and also in the city park ponds.

Stipped bass and Cats I can catch all day in the lake. without issues. fun to catch also.

I am not sure what it is with Some women and Worms lol

I have never caught a crappie or steelhead, but I would love too. I have tried Kapowsin, Cassidy and Larson Lakes for Crappie. No luck at those lakes.

I put the trading idea up here because I use to read fishing magazines as a kid and I remember there was a section where people would post those type of ads.
