Forum Upgrade and Website Downtime

Post by Aaron » Wed Oct 05, 2011 2:12 am

WashingtonLakes.com will be offline from October 5th 10:00pm to October 6th 9:00am. During this time we will be upgrading our forum software. It is our hope that this upgrade will reduced or completely eliminate the problems we have seen since earlier this year which have resulted in frequent periods where the site is offline. As well, the upgrade will expand the capabilities and usability of the forum.

All of the posts, attachments, photos and accounts will be preserved. You will, however, be required to change your password once the conversion is complete. Please note that your email address MUST be up to date and functioning for the password change process to work. If you are unsure if your account has a valid email address please take a look at your profile information before the cutoff date/time. You can change and/or verify your email address by going to your Control Panel in the forum. Both the OLD and NEW email addresses must work for you to change your email address. An email verification notice will be sent to your OLD address and that will authorize the address change.

While we are offline you can find out the status of the upgrade on our FaceBook page:

WashingtonLakes.com FaceBook

If the conversion will be done earlier or later than expected we will update the page and let you know.

If you have recently created a WashingtonLakes.com forum account but have not replied to the email verification notice BEFORE the upgrade then your account will NOT be migrated and you will have to reregister.

No... no you can't sleep in. You must go fishing on Thursday morning so you will be able to submit one of the first reports on the updated site. Otherwise it could be me that submits the... well I went and fished hard caught a rock... should have seen the fight it gave me. I struggled with it for 10 minutes and in the end I set the rock free.

I plan on fishing Thursday morning, provided the boat is done at the shop. They've been busy and will get to it today I'm sure.

Then I suppose the appropriate response would be....."Rock On!!"[lol]

1/2 hour to go (more or less), I hope everyone got their WL.com fix for the next 12 hours! Lets wish Aaron the best. I think once people see the upgrade and get used to it they will be very pleased.

The upgrade wasn't as smooth as I'd like to have seen it, but it worked.
