Bluegill fishing was fair, with about 1/2 throwbacks due to small size. They are sitting off the weedbeds in the various Bobcat lakes in about 2-5 feet of water. Fished worms and mealworms with Crappie Nibbles power bait below a slip-rig bobber. Wind really kicked up about 10:00 a.m. and that was essentially all she wrote. A bit disappointed in the size of the 'gills, as I keep hearing about dinner-plate slabs in this lake chain. The bluegills are underfished in these areas, as everyone seems to fish the bass out of these lakes, and ignores the 'gills. Where are these 2+ lb fish I keep seeing pictures of? Does Deadman Lake have public access? I'll try out Black Lake next time, or just find trout somewhere.
