I have fished this lake for 3 years and every summer it is like shooting crappies out of a barrell. Hot summer night, right around dark, throw out anything and almost every cast you are gonna get a fish or at least a hit. Two weeks ago I was out there, same situation, same everything and I caught 2 4" crappies and had 2 other hits. I could not figure out anything. I tried a different pole, about 15 different jigs from fly type to grub type. The surface activity was the same as always, crappies everywhere. water temperature the same, air temp the same. But whatever it was they didn't like the same thing I have been giving them for the last 3 years. Anyone else expierince that this year. I went back 3 nights later, same pole, same jigs and non stop crappies. Didn't catch any that met the limit but still, that was wierd the other day. I looked around that night and only saw a few crappies brought in. I guess somedays they just don't bite, but when you are talking crappie fishing in Washington, Lake Cassidy is about as close to a sure thing as you can get. Good fishing everybody.
