Went down to the lake and thankfully the ice sheet was gone. Fished from the play area with no luck using Rainbow powerbait. I heard recently that someone had caught a 12lb. brooder from the lake with a green roostertail, but I didn't have any green roostertails so I used a blue one, for a good half hour. Nothing!
Went onto the dock and met a fella who caught one on some green powerbait. He told me that someone had walked up on the dock and caught one with green+yellow powerbait. I had some green and yellow in different bottles.
I decided to use some of the yellow powerbait (Corn Yellow's the name). Took a cast out, and wouldn't you know it, I caught a fish 30sec. later. It was like that for about 45min. straight and then it was getting too late.
I guess it means once you find what the fish want, you're going to catch em'. If not, you get skunked.
