I fished Rotary Lake for opening day. I didn't get there until 8 pm, and left at 8:35, there was maybe ten people on the lake when I arrived. I used a small Luhr Jensen tiger tail with no success for about ten minutes, then switched over to a small red/white spoon. I think there was a mix-up with the 6,000+ trout they stocked in Rotary this year though. I think these trout were meant to go to the circus, because they're a bunch of blasted acrobats! In twenty minutes I hooked five, and lost four, three of which threw the hook in spectacular jumping fashion. One of these little rockets leapt from the water four times before dislodging my hook. The trout I did get to shore was very beautiful, it didn't look like a stocker at all. Anyway, fishing for 8-10 inch trout at Rotary Lake is great, bait fisherman can catch one every ten minutes easy, and if I could set a dang hook I'd be right there with 'em.
