Gator and I hit it again today despite the wind, rain and cold. These kind of days are usually feast or famine and you'll never know unless you give yourself the opportunity! Targeted larger fish in 24 feet of water with type IV sink lines. LOTS of chironomids coming off and literally hundreds of swallows scooping them up. While I struggled with all my usual patterns and got only a few fish, Gator took them behind the woodshed while fishing a blood worm within a couple feet of the bottom. He landed a dozen or so rainbows, several of which were 17-18" and got a beautiful, fat 20" brownie, his first out of W. Medical. Not willing to be out-fished by Gator, I tied on my not-so-secret hares ear and proceeded to take not only the fish, but Gator too, behind the woodshed, punctuating this effort with a monstrous 24.5" brownie (not a fish story, verified by Gator, despite hating to have to do it!). Anyways....it was a first...two nice brownies from W. Medical on one trip, All fish caught on barbless hooks and released unharmed. We were numb with cold after 3 hours but departed fully satisfied.
