I visited this lake today and had a great morning of dry fly fishing where in about an hour of fishing we caught about 6 nice brookies in short order. The rest of the day we were taken to school by the fish. All manner of wets and dries were thrown but to no avail. And quite frankly this was 7 hours of fishing!
The big news on Leech is that about 3 weeks ago 1700 triploids were planted in the lake, and are catchable on flies that look like trout chow. The reason they were stocked in the lake is to try to control the brookie population which is out of control from too much catch and release fishing! It is your duty, should you hit Leech due to this post to keep all the brookies you catch, and to release all the triploids! Otherwise, I shall see that moths infest all your flies and fly tying materials.
