Hit long lake at bout 3:00 pm went to Feltons Slew ( figuring after this past week of heat the crappie would be in the shallows) but I caught just one nice 13 incher in two hours, so i headed to far end of lake near the big turn by Forshees. Whamo. The minute we got there we started whacking smallies, musta caught 15 smallies( no real size to any) but they averaged a pound I suppose and fought good on my crappie rod!! A couple of them around 2 pounds. Then I caught what had to have been a 16 in. crappie it dwarfed the nice one I already had. We fished for largemouth on the way back to launch and I hooked one prob 4 pounder, lost it on jump!! Oh well. Awesome afternoon, great action. Small red and chartreuse tube skirt on small jig hooked both the crappie and my usual brown with gold fleck Gary Yamamato took the smallies.
