The great dead sea - that is what they have been calling it of late. The water temperature was a healthy 62 degrees, winds moderate, water level higher than the last few years, weeds and moss a bit thicker than normal, and no fish.
I fished all my best areas and methods without even one hit. Even the carp were not rolling like they usually do this time of year. I talked to crappie fisherman, bass fisherman, walleye fishermen, and heard of only one small bass.
Two years ago the fishing turned on over Mother's day, last year it was over Memorial day, this year we hope it turns on at all.
Hope someone else has a better report.
