Well I went out to Mason lake looking for LM bass. I went to this lake last year with my boat to try it out, while partying and wakeboarding. I got one bass over 5 lbs, and a 4-11 on separate days, fished for a few hours each day.
Well I thought I would have timed the spawn just right today. I started fishing at 7 am, stopped around 3pm. Saw a few fish, but couldn't get any to bite. The water is super clear and hard to sneak up on those bass. It was windy to start the day which made sight fishing tough. So I guess my Gem of a lake isn't so good after all haha. Should have tried a lake on the way to Mason.
If anyone fishes Mason and does well for Bass, please contact me. I'd like to know some typical patterns, and if SM's are still in this lake. I remember reading about it every month in F&H news over 5 years ago. Thanks, send me a PM or find me on the forum if you are a Mason lake Master.

Thanks, Chris

Chris, stay with junebug, black and green-pumpkin very good in clear lakes on sunny or overcast days. There are lots of perch so use gold - brown spinner with black blades or even black-blue w/ black blades spinner. Now for staying away from docks if the fish see you its hard to get them to bite. stay away from docks and structure cast to them.
