this was our first trip to this lake and it was a beautiful trip up to it. since we didn't have our boat, i called and talked to the lady at the resort and she made it sound like they couldn't keep the fish off of their lines there, BUT, unfortunately they were full. so we talked to a few guys in town and decided to try the south end of the lake near the dam. we tried a number of different spots between the sand banks and the dam and didn't even get one bump. i did, however, see a guy in one of the few boats out that morning, land a decent sized trout. to be honest, i was a bit disappointed with the CATCHING that morning after all of the hype, but FISHING is always great, anywhere. it's very scenic there, and this is my favorite area of the state, so we decided to go on up to the 'upper' lake and give it a try for the afternoon.
