My son and I got to Evergreen Reservoir on June 1 at around noon and the temp had already climbed into the 90's so I'm pretty sure the weather had a little something to do with the slow fishing. Mapquest rules, I seriously doubt I would have been able to find the lake without it. With all the graffiti, I was kind of reluctant to leave my truck unwatched at the launch, but in the middle of the day I figured it would be OK. Anyway, when we got there, there was 3 fresh walleye carcasses laying in the water at the boat launch so someone had some luck earlier in the day. We fished for a few hours and my son got bored of tiger fishing so he starts throwing topwater bass gear and getting smallmouth after smallmouth. We saw a few tigers, not very big. On the way back to the launch I started throwing a bigger Rapala Husky Jerk and got a follow, after an unsuccessful figure 8 I cast it out again and saw him take it. I must not have gotten a good enough hookset because he got off almost immediately. I may go back if I'm ever in the area.
