Fishing solo, I launched my Bass Tracker onto Kitsap County's Wildcat lake in the AM. It was cool and overcast with very little wind. After just a few casts, I hooked a nice, chunky 11 incher that liked the looks of my size 11 Rapala. That was the last strike of the day. Fishing was much tougher than it should be for this time of year. I strongly suspect that some lake shore resident -- or residents have developed a voracious appetite for bass flesh. Living on the lake shore they could probably ignore limits and slot limits and have very little chance of getting caught doing it. And, there are some trout aficionados who would like to see fewer -- or no bass in the lake. Oh well, at least the little 11 incher was released to grow and spawn. Hopefully she will avoid ever having to swim the side stroke in a pan of hot oil.
