My GF and i went out around 5:30 just to kill some time. She fishes because I love to fish. I have had a lot of luck on this lake over the past months off the dock but nothing over 11 inches. Saw one on the stringer that was 16 inches. good size but not much girth.

Started out throwing PB eggs in yellow and green.... nothing. My GF hooked into her 2nd ever fish (other one was when she was 10) I was really proud of her as she set the hook and did everything herself. She got it to the dock and it was a nice size 10 incher that was pretty fat. After that, the bit was off. The sun was starting to go down and Finally I hooked up. Saw the bit set the hook and reeled. I thought I had lost if as there was not tension. Then as I got closer to the dock my line stripped of the reel. To my surprise it was still on and I have never had a fish on at this lake that took line. after a few minutes, it surfaced and I realized it was big. Finally landed it with the Herron on the dock watching for me to turn my back. measured 16.5 inches and had some nice girth. WOW. the biggest fish I had seen caught out of here. Once he was on the stringer I landed another 10 incher on the next cast. Both caught with hatchery formula PB. nice evening other than my GF mad because she thought she would out fish me :-)
