I got to Silver lake in the early afternoon. It was windy and raining. I checked a few places that I have caught crappie at, with no luck. I went the to north end, where all the bankies were, and anchored just out of their casting reach. There was 15 people fishing from the bank, and all were yanking in small crappie. And all had buckets that the small crappie ended up in. I cast a small tube, and starting catching crappie too. All fish were very small, less than 5 inches. The people on the bank were keeping everything that hit the shore, filling their buckets. I caught close to 50 crappie in less than two hours, and headed to the boat ramp. I released all I caught. Like I said, the crappie are small this year. I probably wont be going back this winter, unless the bigger ones show up.
