After a long bumpy 4 mile ride from the interstate,we arrived a little late in the morning. The boat launch there is a rough one(very steep and turns at the bottom)Definitely a 4 wheel drive launch.People there fishing right in the middle of the launch too,not to mention camped out in the road that leads to the launch.Had to do a bit of maneuvering to finally get my 16.5 fter in the lake.Next time definitely taking my little jon boat.Started out trolling out in the middle of the lake.Probably half a dozen or so other boats on the water.Man this lake is pretty deep for its size.Deepest part I found was just over 140 ft.and I marked a lot of fish all over the place. But the only place we really did any good was just a few feet from the bank on the west side.We caught Rainbows and Brook trout in all sizes(9-18 inches)on small plugs(Diawa SC Shiner -rainbow trout fry,and Cultiva Mirashad- brown trout pattern) both flat lining behind the boat and in downriggers to keep us from getting tangled. This lake drops off very quickly from the shore so you can troll pretty deep just a little bit from the shore.Kept 3 nice ones between the 3 of us and a few smaller ones.Released all the Brookies..Very nice lake.be back soon.
