I took my son fishing in our portabote at 700am. The lake was empty of boats or people fishing. The last time I fished North lake was 5 yrs ago. The lake looks the same but with less weeds. From the boat dock we headed to the left. I large
section of shallow water allows people farther into the lake than 5 yrs ago. We didn't have much luck with plastic warms at that end so we fished at the far end of the lake. We saw a turtle sun bathing on a little mud island for about 20 minutes.
I had a couple bits and saw some bass darting in and out of the pads. My son caught one small blue gill and was very excited to tell everyone he knows I was skunked and he caught a bluegill. I had one nice top water hit with a zara spook by the lilly pads as the inlet at the end of the lake opens up. By the end of the day two other boats were fishing and a couple fished from the bushes close to the boat dock. I saw a security car checking the lot and I parked by the tree closest to the lake and when it was time to leave my car was swarmed by bees. This lake is a little gem to have so close to where so many people live.
