Got to the lake early Saturday morning. Was hardly any boats on the lake fishing for bass for the whole day. Weather was windy and rainy at times but the fishing was great. First larger fish of the day was caught on a crank bait (4lbs 10ozs) . Best productive lure was plastic craw flipped along the edges in 2 to 3 foot of water. caught around 20 fish with a certified scale weight of 20.48 lbs for the 5 larger fish weighted caught and release unharmed as I always do for I do not eat fish . Water temp was 67 degrees at 6 in the morning and got to 69 at the highest for the day. water was muddy so fishing shallow was easy so as not to spook fish. Got to watch big fish(6lbs 13ozs) take craw as soon as it hit the water. Checked with Washington Fish and Game and is O-K to keep fish in live well to take pictures at end of day as long as fish are not put on stringer which is classified as being retained on stringer. Thanks to Jason ,a dock fisherman at Silver Lake Resort, for help holding 4 of the 5 fish that was weighted at the end of the day and released unharmed. Picture by Silver Lake staff Dave Newby

So I'm assuming you don't take your pics anymore with the fish dangling on a chain trout stringer, since you say its illegal to even have them on it ?? Are they in a livewell all day, and do you just put them on for taking pics of all 5. Hope you don't drag them around the lake ? Nice looking fish btw.

Is that why when I catch a fish out of silver the mouth looks like Swiss cheese Dave has been poking them full of holes with his stringer so he can show us a photo of yet another 3lb fish.

Great looking fish Dave, thanks again for the tip about the dark colored craw-type plastic. Worked like a charm.

Hi Dave, I've enjoyed you reports and plan on going to the lake this week. Do you know the names of the resorts on the Lake? I can only find one. Thanks, Jo

Silver Lake Resort, Streeter's Resort, and Anderson's Resort. I've personally only been to Streeter's, as that's where our property is.

I don't hate Dave I think he is an great angler I just see no reason to drag fish all over the lake all day in a livewell then put them on a stringer to take a picture. All I do is catch them take a photo & release. There is no reason to show photos of every fish you get just show your best for that day we will take your word for the rest.

Dave is a great angler, I'll agree also. Some of us are just bummed out he got rid of the stache. You can't just chop it off because you feel like it, you have too many fans !!!
:) Just messing around Dave.
