Finally got my first float tube ready for fishing and went out for its maiden voyage at Clark Lake in Kent. Put in by the little pier and worked my way around the lake counter-clockwise. First cast was about 7pm and caught a 14" LMB on the first cast, throwing a small white with red glitter single round blade (silver) spinner into the lily pads and a slow retrieve. 1 cast, 1 bass. I think I'm gonna like tubing!

Spent about 3 hours on the lake. Landed 7 bass, all on the white spinner, with the biggest almost hitting 16". Didn't have a scale but they weren't very fat. Released every fish to catch again another day. Hopefully they'll put on some weight hehe

Just as it got dark I put on a topwater plastic frog (green and black, dual hooks) and bounced it through the pads directly across from the pier. Had a few taps, hooked one that probably was about 16" but it threw the hook just as it got to the tube. Nothing more exciting than having a nice bass tailwalk not six feet in front of you when you're in a tube.

Total for the evening was 12 hookups, 7 landed, and a few nice ones that pulled the tube around while landing them. I'm sure there's some big ones in there. The water was stained about the same color as breakfast tea, and visibility was maybe 3 feet in the water. I could barely make out the writing on my fins. I'd been wanting to buy a float tube for the past year and now I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner. This was probably the most fun I've had since snook fishing in Florida back when I lived on Clearwater Beach.

No photos this time since I wasn't sure how sea-worthy the tube was (bought it used) but I'll put a camera in the tackle box for a few snaps from now on.
