Wow what a lake! it was awesome. but the road getting to it! I just hope your not afraid of Heights! I got lost along the way but finally found it. I got my Pontoon out around 10 a.m. and head for the north east side of the lake I noticed a small section in the corner that wasn't getting blown out by the wind and headed over to it. I got over there and the water was crystal clear. I think I could see at least 10 feet down. I immediately noticed about 4 bows swimming around this one section and the the Mayflys doing there dance. Must have been thousands ! looked like march browns. I didn't really have a good march brown to throw so I put on a light Cahill. I threw it into the mix. And from the Deep comes this monster Rainbow and he slammed on that Cahill like he hadn't eaten in days ! I fought him for a good 15 minutes before I got him. He was 24" and had to weight at least 5 lbs. He was beautiful. had the rosey cheeks and the color was amazing! I release him for another day and another angler. I know there is a limit of one a day there for keepers but I just couldn't keep that bad boy, I wanted to share in the fun with the other anglers! and anyway that was my first dry fly experience and it was worth every second of it ! I will be back ( I just hate that road though)
