I went out to Silver Lake around 7PM and started fishing the bottom and hadn't got any bites, so I ran to the car and grab my other pole with a floater. Started getting some small Yellow perch around 4 in. to 5 in. The sun was going down and I throw out my other line with night crawlers and dipped it. I caught a 14 and 1/2 inch Catfish. Nice fat belly on him, and I left my bobber out in the water and of course pulling in the catfish he wrapped around the other line. I was getting the Catfish on the stringer I noticed my bobber was going nuts. I reeled it in as much as I could and hand pulled a nice 9 inch bass out as well. I will post some pics later on tonight. Fun times!

Sounds like it got pretty exciting, but is it legal to fish with two rods?

It's not illegal if you pay for the extra pole on your license.

2007 Sport Fishing Regulations Book page 32: "Hook and line angling only. Barbed or barbless hooks may be used, and a hook may be single-point, double, or treble, but not more than one line with up to three hooks per angler may be used." You May Not... "Fish with a rod not under your immediate control." (page 26). If your daughter is actually fishing and holding the rod, then it's fine. If she's not holding the rod, then it's illegal. There is no "extra rod" option for your license in the state of Washington listed in the regs.

Interestingly, that's 9 points max (3 trebble hooks). Didn't know that until 5 minutes ago.
