Went out to Klineline this morning. As I was putting my gear in my Jeep a fellow was walking up the street and, of course I greeted him with a happy "good morning" and he asked if I was going fishing (duh) and where was I going. When I said I was going to Klineline he said that was his favorite fishing hole, so I invited him to come along. We had a great time. I have been skunked so many times, but today I put a live Red Wiggler worm and a little power bait on a #12 hook with a pea sized split shot about 30 inches above it and tossed it out from the second fishing platform and caught a fish on the first cast!!
I caught two more little crappie and had a lot of fun. The smaller pond, my new fishing buddy told me it was the original pond, has a lot of "stuff" floating on top and growing on the bottom, but when we walked over to it there was a guy pulling out a small bass and he told us there were a lot of bass in the pond, but the bite was slow today. He said what we needed was a rapalla, well I do not think I have one although I may have one and not know it, not knowing what it is. I bought a big tackle box full of...well...tackle at a garage sale and have stuff I do not know. I am going to go to Sportsman's Warehouse today and find out what a rapalla is and if I do not have one will! I noticed that fisherman-max mentioned the colors he has and I will probably buy a few of the colors. Speaking of fisherman-max I ordered some of the Trout Magnets on line, I could not find them local, they are set to arrive UPS on Tuesday. I am very excited. I did throw a green/brown lure that looks like a crawdad for a while, but did not catch anything. I will be back with an arsenal of rapallas and trout magnets...look out fish!
