Took the wife and son out for some Crappie fishing in the evening but my target was largemouth bass of which I was unsuccessful. The crappie starting to pick up as the sun was setting. We nailed one on just about every cast, must of caught 25-30 but was only able to keep 7 that were over the 9" minimum, we lost a couple of fatties. We tried all kinds and colors of spinners and jigs and found the most effective were the double gold with a red tint spinner. They seemed to be schooled towards the south end of the lake towards the middle. It's a lot of fun catching them on ultralight gear and you only have about an hour before it gets too dark.
