I fished Silver this afternoon for a couple hours because I had not been out in a while and was looking for a sure thing. I was pitching jigs for Bass and managed to catch a couple smaller ones. One was about 1.5 pounds and the other was about a pound. I also tossed out a jig and bobber setup to catch some of the Sunfish that abound in this lake. I must have caught 20 in less than an hour. They are pretty small, but I don't care, I have fun catching them anyway. I saw one Musky that was holding less than 10 feet from where I had my boat anchored. I couldn't believe that it was so close to me, in such shallow water and yet I could barely see it against the background of weeds and rocks. Air temp was 77, water temp was 71 and there was only a light breeze on the lake. A great day to just enjoy being on the water. On a side note it looks like the WDFW is getting serious about finally fixing up the public fishing area, there was a sign up a public meeting to gather input about their plans. I did not see any signs this time stating that the WDFW access area is only for the launching and recovering of boats. Have the use and access rules changed to now allow swimming and fishing from the shore?
