Went out this morning (thursday) tried near new castle for some bass, tried drop shotting for the first time using a gary yamamoto white grub worm with flakes, caught 1 big perch (left side in the picture) didn't seem to get any other action then little perch biting and running. Switched over to worm and bobber, couple bites but only caught one(right) cant seem to hook into any bass if anyone has the answer to my problem if would be very much appreciated if you could help thank you! until next time

hey man,

try to find docks in water 15'+ and dropshot them with sniper snubs or bolts in natural colors. this should get you into some fish.

good luck.

Find docks that are a little deeper, the ones that lie right outside the weedline can be the ticket, if your getting hung up on weeds you need to go deeper or fish more vertical.

Try along the southside of mercer island by the beach club. Those have some deep docks!

good job sommy, gave up my spot...j/k. those are some good deep docks along there. also try along pleasure point.

how i fish the dropshot is i get within pitching distance to the end of the dock and flip the DS next to it. let it sink, pick up the slack and i start to jiggle it. after about 30 seconds or so if i don't get anything i reel in and flip it to another part of the dock or move on to another dock. if they're down there they'll hit it quick.

i used snipers in 5 different colors today and they all caught fish (ranged from white to brown).

im guessign im doing it wrong then. ive been casting and then letting it drop, then i reel up the slack and then i work the bait as i reel it in and then i usually cast again and repeat.. so do u just cast let it hit bottom and then flip the bail and just move the bait with all the slack? do i reel?

it depends on how fast you are reeling in, if you are working it super slow then you should be fine. a key to remember is that the bass are under the dock, so keeping the bait under/close to the dock is very important. reeling to fast will take you out of "the zone". also, i only target 1/4 of the dock, i don't even fish the bottom 3/4th of the docks this time of year. snd i try not to cast it, i just flip it at a maximum of 20'. this way the bait stays more vertical and it is easier to control.

what kind of a boat do you have? do you have a bow mount trolling motor?
