Took my son out for the first time on Lk Wa. We went out of Magnuson park launch on the West side. Went a half mile up to just past the NOAH research place. Parked outside of some residential docks and started with drop shotting senkos. This seemed to be a problem due to the weeds to high. Maybe that shouldn't be a problem, but I am not experienced at bass fishing?? Of course I usually just hook my son up with worm and bobber so he can at least pull something in.
He catches 3 perch right off the bat. Next thing you know he gets a hard hit off the worm/bobber routine which is plunked about 3 ft. from a dock. I set the hook, and then he reels in this large mouth. It starts stripping line right before the boat.
Since I just started bass fishing myself, I have to say that this was larger than any I'd caught either. I would guess 1.75 pounds?
It was an overcast day, worm and bobber, about 4:00 pm, 10 ft. below bobber, your usual lake wash. choppiness.
And just one other thing...... God bless LMB for just opening up their mouth into this huge void which allows you to retrieve the hook? I don't know if I can ever trout fish again. And they are so freakin' hardy! No touch them twice and they die stuff at all.
