I arrived early (for me!) and launched my pontoon with anticipation for this was my first time at this lake. I was a little wary about how the day would be as I paddled from the launch down the channel to the main body of the lake because it looked like every dock had fishing poles resting on them like permanent fixtures and maybe the local waterfront natives main staple food was fresh fish! In other words I was wondering to myself if all the planted trout had been fished out! Well after most of the day tolling all around without so much as a little tug I was back at the end with launch and decided to try Pwr eggs on the bottom and caught one 13". Still was really slow by later afternoon and was ready to call it a day but decided one more trip around the lake and find the deep spot I heard about from some locals earlier who were after bass. I found this spot and what a difference a few feet in depth made ! At one point I had two fish in my net as I was pulling in another! I caught the rest of my limit (4) in less the 20 min. I still have not decided to go back yet but am sure I will before season closure and try this little hot spot again!
