Took my canoe out on its maiden voyage. It was the worst day and it was the best day!
It took a lot of canoeing to do a little fishing, lol. I finally got the hang of it and it was pretty great! I got out on the water a little late, about 8:30. I tried to fish Lacamas and the wind and the sheer size of the lake through me off and I went to Round instead. I was using a Trout Magnet and E-Z Floats (Lelund Lures). I had the E-Z Float about 16 inches above the Trout Magnet, I started out using the chartreuse and used the red and the mealworm colors before the day was out. I circled the lake casting into shaded areas of water especially stumps, logs and the edge of vegetation. I took pictures of the first few I caught, but they came so fast I quit the pics and concentrated on fishing. Most of what I caught were small crappie and blue gill. I did catch a bass as big as my finger...hmmm, guess I did not need that scale.
All in all it was a good day on the water.
I included the second picture because I thought it was weird that it had what looks like a bite taken out of it.
