9/27/2007 6:06:00 AMthere are 2 places one is remote the other is not where there are monster bass in this state by consistantly i mean when we go me or one of the boys will get one every time . most of the fish in one lake are 2-3 # the other just has hogs and can be slow. I truly believe both lakes hold fish over 8 and my son says he lost one this spring over that - possible 9-10 if they are there next spring if they grow 1.5 pounds a year all those 7 # fish will be 8.5 or larger . you know even lake cassidy has a few 7# fish and these larger fish are usually really old and weathered . I CAN TELL YOU THIS I HAVE FISHED EVERY LAKE IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY AND ALMOST ALL IN WESTERN WASHINGTON I AM AN AVID STEELHEADER WITH A FEW 20# ONE ON MY WALL IS 23# LAST WEEKEND I HOOKED A 14# KING AND ONE ABOUT 6# . BASS DONT MATTER TO ME BUT WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THAT CLEAR LAKE IS THE TOP LAKE IN WASHINGTON FOR BASS I GOTTA SAY NO WAY IF YOU TRULY LOVE BIG BASS .LAST CLUE THERE IN SMALLER LAKES THAT ARE NOT FISHED OFTEN .I THOUGHT ID NEVER SEE A 7# FISH AGAIN WHEN I MOVED UP HERE 20 YEARS LATER MY KIDS PROVED ME WRONG. I DID THIS REPORT ITS REALLY TRUE LIKE IT OR LUMP IT.

10/1/2007 11:57:00 PMDon't give up on Silver Lake Cowlitz county. It is known for quality bass not so much quantity. This lake is one that if you find the right lure and presentation for the day that you fish the whole lake turns on to it but it can change from one minute to the next. I too have had bad streaks on this lake but have had some great days of fishing on this lake that I have had to give up and go home for setting the hook so many times on quality fish during the fall feeding frenzy that i wore blisters on my hands. I'm not complaining just wish it would happen more often. Confidence is what's needed on this lake and any lake that a fisherman fishes so try again and you might be pleasantly surprised.
