Made the short hop from Clear Lake over to Beaver Lake to check it out, and show the Wife! This is a small muddy water lily pad filled shallow lake, that holds more than a few quality sized bass! However, they can be very spooky, and sometimes difficult to find. That being said, we motored over to the North end of the lake and began throwing topwater baits, I was using a black and blue 3/8oz buzz bait, and the Wife was throwing a brown plastic hollow floating mouse. She was getting ten times the strikes I was, but being new to bass fishing was not used to waiting to "feel" the fish once it blows up on a topwater bait, therefore she missed 95% of the fish, but I still gave her an A for effort!

I managed a couple pounders, but nothing too exciting. My best fish from this lake was a 5lb 2oz largemouth, caught on a 1/4 oz yellow buzz bait on a rainy day two years ago though, so I know it can be better. For the record, I also tried a Power Worm, and spinnerbait, to no avail.....
