10/12/2007 12:50:00 PMSommysom, I've got a question for you as I've been in a debate with a friend of mine on whether dropshotting would work best now or a worm/grub on a Carolina rig. How deep is your lure being fished? Is your weight on the bottom or are you swimming it back mid depth, and how high is your hook above your weight? I was telling my friend that a Carolina rig might work as good and he pointed out I was assuming you were fishing close to the bottom. thanks Bill

10/12/2007 4:21:00 PMZen(Bill)- the depth of range is in between 15-25 and the pig was caught in around 15ft dead sticking a dropshot rig close to weedline. My lure is only about 12" above the weight. We do swim it back also but this pig liked it on the bottom. Carolina rig might work in the flats close to weed lines.

10/15/2007 1:18:00 AMsommysom, got a few not-so-smart questions for ya. First of all, what are those fish? What's "pig"? Secondly, did you let the dropshot sinker sink to the bottom? Or did you just let it suspend in the water? Third, you said 15-25 ft. Do you mean the total depth of the place you fished? Or it's deeper than that, you only put so much line in the water?

10/15/2007 3:22:00 PMP.T. - Smallmouth bass! "Pig" just slang saying "big/fat" fish! There are a couple of different ways to fish the dropshot. Yes, you let the weight/sinker go to the bottom. You can dead stick the bait which means letting it just sit there on the bottom before working it back to you. Remember that the dropshot lure is worked to keep it off the bottom by keeping line tension and twitching it. When I said 15-25 ft .....I meant that's about the range of depth we were catching the fish in different areas. I hope I answered most of your questions. Tight lines and good luck!!
