I wrote this report earlier, but somehow it didn't go through.... forgive me if it double posts.
Went to Lk. Wa. on Sunday from about 11:00 -2:00 pm. I was trolling the West side from the Cedar R. up and down to Pritchard park. (1 mile south of Seward) FYI, Pritchard park is a little known launch off of Seward Park Ave. It's only $6.00, and never more than two trailers there.
Anyway, like I've heard from the others, the fish weren't showing themselves. I trolled Les Davis pop gear followed up by a red Wedding ring, and other times a flatfish. No strikes at all. I was downrigging at only about 10-15 ft. Of course I know that you don't need the d.r.'s this time of year with fish up top, but it is new to me so I wanted to learn to work with it.
Sunny skies, calm waters, water temp. 45 degrees. I did mark quite a few fish in the far south west corner of the lake usually in 10 ft. of water about 50 ft. off of the docks. These were schooling fish.... what do you think, perch in the winter?
It looks like it's the cutts. 1, Chris 0.

Those schooling fish you marked might have been more coho. I've caught and released 2 so far in that general area near the surface. Ken

When will LW usually heat up again? I have my boat out of the water at this time of year, and just waiting for the right time to put it back in. Since I have only lived here for a short time, I am still learning how to fish LW and when trout and Cutts are showing themselves. I usually have my boat moored 5 min away from Cedar River outlet.

I'm not really one to know that info. really. Go to the forum section of the site, and ask under "Freshwater forum" You will get all kinds of info.
